OF THE PALISADES NUCLEAR PLANT JUNE 17, 2009, NON-PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS END-OF-CYCLE SECURITY PERFORMANCE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2008

Dear Mr. Schwarz:

On June 17, 2009, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a Non-Public Meeting at the Palisades Nuclear Plant, located at 27780 Blue Star Memorial Highway, Covert, Michigan. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the NRC End-of-Cycle assessment of the Palisades Nuclear Plant security performance for the 2008 calendar year.

Mr. Eric Duncan, Chief, Plant Support Branch, Division of Reactor Safety, Region III, opened the meeting with an introduction of NRC officials, the reason for the meeting, and a review of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process. Mr. Duncan then discussed the Palisades Nuclear Plant security performance for the 2008 calendar year and provided the licensee with an opportunity to provide any response and remarks. Following the completion of the licensees presentation and remarks, Mr. Steve West, Director, Division of Reactor Safety, Region III, and Mr. Mark Satorius, Regional Administrator, Region III, provided additional insight on the security performance of the Palisades Nuclear Plant. Mr. Satorius then adjourned the meeting.
