By letter dated December 19, 2012, (Agencywide Document Access and ManagementSystem Accession No. ML12355A351) PPL Susquehanna, LLC, Inc. submitted a licenseamendment request for Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 (SSES 1 and2, respectively). The proposed amendments would modify the SSES Unit 1 and 2Technical Specifications (TS) Section 2.1.1 to reflect a revised Low Pressure Safety Limit.The purpose of this e-mail is to provide the results of the U.S. Nuclear RegulatoryCommission (NRC) staff's acceptance review of this license amendment request. Theacceptance review was performed to determine if there is sufficient technical information inscope and depth to allow the NRC staff to complete its detailed technical review. Theacceptance review is also intended to identify whether the application has any readilyapparent information insufficiencies in its characterization of the regulatory requirements orthe licensing basis of the plant.

Section50.34 of 10 CFR addresses the content of technical information required. This sectionstipulates that the submittal address the design and operating characteristics, unusual ornovel design features, and principal safety considerations.
The purpose of this e-mail is to provide the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs acceptance review of this license amendment request. The acceptance review was performed to determine if there is sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the NRC staff to complete its detailed technical review. The acceptance review is also intended to identify whether the application has any readily apparent information insufficiencies in its characterization of the regulatory requirements or the licensing basis of the plant.
The NRC staff has reviewed your application and concluded that it does provide technicalinformation in sufficient detail to enable the NRC staff to complete its detailed technicalreview and make an independent assessment regarding the acceptability of the proposedlicense amendment request in terms of regulatory requirements and the protection ofpublic health and safety and the environment.
