NRC Notification to the State of Pennsylvania Re. Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 - Indirect License Transfer and Draft Conforming Amendments Mr. Shields, I just left you a voicemail, so Im sending this email as a follow-up.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is preparing to issue an order to Susquehanna Nuclear, LLC regarding the its request to an indirect license transfer pertaining to the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2, and the associated independent spent fuel storage installation. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am notifying you of the proposed issuance of the draft conforming amendments.
Please reply if the State of Pennsylvania has comments on the following requested licensing action submitted to the NRC by Susquehanna Nuclear, LLC (the licensee), Susquehanna Steam Electric Station Application for Order Approving Indirect Transfer of Control of Licenses and Approving Conforming License Amendments, by letter PLA-8015 dated September 29, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22272A603), as supplemented by letters PLA-8032 dated October 28, 2022 (ML22301A204), PLA-8039 dated December 22, 2022 (ML22356A306), and PLA-8057 dated March 15, 2023 (ML23074A336).
The proposed amendments would modify various license conditions to reflect a change in the entity (from Talen Energy Corporation to Talen Energy Supply) responsible for providing a financial support agreement to Susquehanna Nuclear,LLC.
The staff published a notice of availability of the proposed order and conforming amendments in the Federal Register on November 8, 2022 (87 FR 67511).
