Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure Revision Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.54(q)(5), and 10 CFR 72.44(f),

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is submitting a description of changes to the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Radiological Emergency Plan (REP). The affected document is the WBN Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure (EPIP) listed below:

EPIP Revision Title Effective Date 1 57 Emergency Plan 12/13/2022 Classification Logic Description of Changes EPIP-1 revision 57 enacted the following changes:

Added 0-TI-328 (Design Engineering Numeric Input to the Emergency Preparedness Program) as a developmental reference and added it to the reference of the basis of each Initiating Condition (IC) that contains numeric values from this 0-TI-328.

Added references to calculations WBNOSG4188 (Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP) Setpoints Verification Document) and MDQ000NA2022000000 (Emergency Preparedness Numeric Value Development) to the bases of applicable ICs.

  • Updated spent fuel pool level values in ICs RG2 , RS2 , and RA2 based upon values in calculations MDQ000NA2022000000 and WBNOSG4188. Changes were made to the Attachment 1 (Emergency Classification Wallboards) and the IC bases .

The above change was evaluated in accordance with 10 CFR 50 .54(q)(3) and 10 CFR 72.44(f). TVA determined that the change did not reduce the effectiveness of the WBN REP . The WBN REP, as revised, continues to meet the requirements in Appendix E to 10 CFR 50 and the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) .
