Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.54(q)(5), and 10 CFR 72.44(f),

the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is submitting a description of changes to the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Radiological Emergency Plan (REP). The affected document is the WBN Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures (EPIP) listed below:

EPIP 13 Revision 30 Description of Change EPIP-13 Title Initial Dose Assessment for Radiological Emergencies Effective Date 09/23/2020 This EPIP revision includes a major technical change that replaced instructions for dose assessments using Integrated Computer System (ICS) Dose Calculator with instructions for the new Meteorological Information and Dose Assessment System (MIDAS) software program.

In addition, editorial and formatting changes have been incorporated to accommodate the new MIDAS instructions and improve the general readability and usability of the EPIP.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission WBL-20-048 October 1, 2020 Page 2 The above changes were evaluated in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q)(3) and 10 CFR 72.44(f). TVA determined that the changes did not reduce the effectiveness of the WBN REP.

The WBN REP, as revised, continues to meet the requirements in Appendix E to 10 CFR 50 and the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b).
