Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure Revisions Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.54(q)(5) and 10 CFR 72.44(f),

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is submitting a description of changes to the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Radiological Emergency Plan (REP). The affected document is the WBN Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure (EPIP) listed below:

EPIP Revision Title Effective Date 6 56 Activation and Operation of the Technical 10/05/2022 Support Center (TSC)

Description of Changes EPIP-6 Revision 56 changed following items:

  • Streamlined Site Emergency Director (SED) turnover checklist (Attachment 4) to improve performance.
  • Added list of Dose Assessment related WebEOC boards to Radiation Protection (RP)

Manager checklist (Attachment 11). WebEOC is an emergency management application that may be used for producing, managing, and sharing electronic logs and other information.

  • Corrected a typographical error in CFR 20 (Standards for Protection Against Radiation) title .
  • Corrected referenced procedure typographical errors in Attachment 18 (Technical Assessment Team) and added missing performance references to Section 2.1 (Performance References) .
  • Added Employee Identification Number (EIN) to sign-in roster in Attachment 23 (WBN TSC Sign In Roster) to match EPIP-7 (Activation and Operation of the Operations Support Center) .
  • Updated all appendices to attachments to comply with template requirements and all references within the procedure.

The above changes were evaluated in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q)(3) and 10 CFR 72.44(f). TVA determined that the changes did not reduce the effectiveness of the WBN REP . The WBN REP, as revised , continues to meet the requirements in Appendix E to 10 CFR 50 and the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) .
