Clinton Power Station Construction Schedule Update bear Dr. Denton:

The USNRC letter dated May 29, 1981, from H. R. Denton to W. J. Kelley, requested Illinois Power Company (IP)~to provide quarterly updates concerning the Clinton I construction schedule.

On November 27,1985, IP announced that due to the delays experienced in completing systems for testing, Fuel Load was expected to commence between late February and late March 1986. A new organization headed by senior management p&rsonnel has been formed to coordinate Fuel Load readiness.

Our analysis indicates that progress reported through December continues to support IP's goal of commencing Fuel Load during the first quarter of 1986.

On January 2, 1986, an important milestone was achieved with the successful completion of the Integrated Leak Rate Test. The only remaining major testing milestone required prior to Fuel Load is the Emergency Core Cooling System / Loss of Site Pcwer Test, r
