B0MB THREAT At 11:55 p.m. on August 28, 1987, the DeWitt County (Illinois) Sheriff's Department received an anonymous telephone call indicating that there was a borr'; at the Clinton Nuclear Power Station.

The licensee increased security measures at the plant and initiated a search. No device j

- was found and there was no explosion. The licensee and the Sheriff's Department concluded l the threat was a hoax. There is no known connection between this threat and one received on {

August 19, 1987 (reference: PNO-III-87-109). The threat had no effect on plant operations. i The licensee declared an Unusual Event under its emergency response plan. The NRC's .

Information Assessment Team was informed of the threat and concurred with the licensee's assessment and actions.

The State of Illinois will be notified. The local Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms will also be notified.

' Region III (Chicago) was notified of the threat by the NRC Headquarters Duty Officer at
