Subject:

BOMB THREAT At approximately 2:59 p.m., July 12, 1980, the site switchboard received a telephone call from a male caller who stated that there was a bomb in the power block'.

The call originated on the site.

A search of the site was conducted with negative results. The site was evacuated.

The end of the first and all of the second shif t activities were cancelled. The Dewitt County and Illinois State Police law enforcement agencies were called to the site.

The Clinton Plant is under construction - approximately 70% complete.

It is located in Clinton, Illinois in the central part of the State. No fuel is located on site.

There has been no local news media interest. Press releases are not planned by the licensee or RIII (Chicago). This PN is issued for information only and no further action is planned by RIII. The State of Illinois has been notified.

Notification of this event was made by the licensee to the NRC Duty Officer at 2:59 p.m., EDT, who in turn notified RIII at 4:10 p.m.,
