Enclosed is Revision 4 of the AP600 Standard Safety Analysis Report (SSAR). Also enclosed are revised tables of contents for affected chapters, change page instructions, lists of effective pages, and a "roadmap" of the changes in cach section. The revision is in the form of replacement section* to be inserted into the SSAR binders to replace the superseded pages. The document cover sheets a revisions 2,3, and 4 are also enclosed. The original document cover sheets should not be discarded. {

Thirty-six copies are being sent to Diane Jackson. Additionally, copies are being sent directly to ACRS Members and NRC subcontractors.

Many of the DSER open items are closed by submittal of this revision. The itemization of those items closed by this transmittal will be provided by separate cover.

The Westinghouse Electric Corporation copyright notice, proprietary information notice, application for withholding and affidavit are also attached.

This submittal contains Westinghouse proprietary information consisting of trade secrets, commercial information or financial information which we consider privileged or confidential pursuant to 10CFR2.790. Therefore, it is requested that the Westinghouse proprietary information attached hereto be handled on a confidential basis and be withheld from public disclosures.

In order to conform to the requirements of 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations concerning the protection of proprietary information so submitted to the NRC, the information which is proprietary in the proprietary versions is contained within brackets, and where the proprietary information has been deleted in the non-proprietary versions, only the brackets remain (the infonnation that was containad within the brackets in the proprietary versions having been deleted). The justification for claiming the information so designated as proprietary is indicated in both versions by means of lower case letters (a) through (O contained within parentheses located as a superscript immediately following the brackets enclosing each item of information being identified as proprietary or in the margin opposite such information. These lower case letters refer to the types of information Westinghouse customarily holds in confidence identified in Section (4)(ii)(a) through (4)(ii)(f) of the affidavit accompanying this transmittal pursuant to 10 CFR2.790(b)(1).
