Dear Mr. Borchardt:
1 Enclosed with this letter is a report discussing the models used in AP600 Passive Containment Cooling System design basis analyses and an assessment of the margin represented in these analyses. The enclosed report responds to an NRC request for information to support the preparation of the AP600 draft safety evaluation report.
The report shows that the AP600 containment response to design basis accidents is similar to current operating plants and also shows that the margins in the AP600 design basis analyses are comparable to those provided for currently licensed plants.
