Enclosed is information provided in response to an informal request by Mr. G. Rhee of NRC-RES.

. Mr. Rhee requested information on the SPES-2 initial conditions and facility response observed during matrix test no. 4 (2-inch cold leg break simulation with non-safety systems operation). Enclosure 1 includes:

Execrpts from relevant test procedure with the startup feedwater, CVS charging, and normal RHR pump injection flows vs. pressure Initial conditions of test S00504 Key event / actuation times Preliminary plots of the actual injection flows obtained during the test Preliminary plots of pressuriier and core makeup tank levels observed during the test Enclosure 2 provide a non-proprietary copy of the information presented in Enclosure 1. The Westinghouse Electric Corporation copyright notice, proprietary information notice, application for withholding and affidavit are also attached.

This submittal contains Westinghouse proprietary information consisting of trade secrets, commercial information or financial information which we consider privileged or confidential pursuant to 10CFR2.790. Therefore, it is requested that the Westinghouse proprietary information attached hereto be handled on a confidential basis and be withheld from public disclosures.
