The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the meeting in accordance with NRC Management Directive 3.5, Attendance at NRC Staff-Sponsored Meetings (ML21180A271).

Oklo stated that the objectives of the meeting were to:

Provide details on how Oklo intends to address regulatory requirements on meteorological site characterization, Describe the process for determining the bounding atmospheric dispersion, and Inform readiness assessment topics to maximize utility ahead of the license application review.

J. Borromeo Oklo described its proposed approach for flexible siting based on the robustness of its design and the anticipated minimal resource requirements. Oklo stated that it developed its approach to be applicable to both initial and future powerhouse deployments.

The staff pointed to guidance in Regulatory Guide 1.249 Use of ARCON Methodology for Calculation of Accident-Related Offsite Atmospheric Dispersion Factors as relevant to Oklos approach. No regulatory decisions were made as a result of this meeting.
