Meeting Summary:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the meeting in accordance with NRC Management Directive 3.5, Attendance at NRC Staff-Sponsored Meetings (ML21180A271). Highlights from the meeting included the following:

Oklo stated that the goals of this meeting were to provide the NRC staff with updates on progress made regarding its safety analysis approach and receive any additional feedback on this topic prior to a pre-application readiness assessment.

Oklo provided a summary of the interactions held with NRC staff over the last 2 years regarding the topic of safety analysis and described updates and clarifications to its safety analysis approach based on continued development of this approach.

Oklo shared a list of supporting safety analysis documents, to which the discussion was limited, and Oklo indicated that the documents could be made available as part of future licensing submittal reviews. The NRC staff planned to review the list and provide feedback to Oklo on the documents that the NRC staff considers priority to perform its evaluations.

Oklo indicated that it will provide the NRC staff with updates on progress on the safety analysis during future meetings.

The NRC staff and Oklo agreed that no further pre-application interactions were necessary on this topic but this will be a topic that will be addressed during a future readiness assessment.

No regulatory decisions were made as a result of this meeting.
