I want to thank you for agreeing to meet with myself and our contractor to discuss the technical aspects of setting up an Emergency Response Data Sy. stem (ERDS) with your facilities.
As I explained in our conversation, the intent of' this effort overall is to provide us with a detailed understanding of the j
availability of the data we desire, the potential for transmitting the data to
-i us, and the hardware and software necessary for use to handle the data. _ For i
your information, I have enclosed a copy of the Commission Paper on EROS.

Some of the areas we are interested in are:
Parameters available on computer systems which coincide with the list of fs ones we desire, l
Sensing points for parameters.
3 Verification and validation method if any.
d Computer system design characteristics and handling of the data.

We are attempting to make this data collection effort complete enough so that

no subsequent trips to any site will be necessary and that we obtain sufficient
