DEMONSTRATION OF EMERGENCY RESPONSE DATA SYSTEM WITH

LASALLE PLANT On August 13, 1985, the Office of Resource Management participated in a

" demonstration of the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) with the Office of Inspection and Enforcement, and others. RM/D expended approximately 60 1' staff and contractor hours to provide the software necessary for this demon-stration. Inasmuch as the contract for the design of ERDS is now about to 1 i be awarded, we wish to be sure that you understand it is not our intent to

: develop any additional software in support of this demonstration effort.

, _ Hopefully, it has fulfilled its intended function and the programs and macros will be replaced by those written for the ERDS contract. Any further develop-ment on these programs would seem to duplicate the efforts of the ERDS con-tractor. We hope this is consistent with your own thinking on this matter.
