Dear Ms. Mulvehill:
c3
~1 This is to confirm our intent to conduct a survey of your emergency data 11 system capabilities for possible use as part of an Emergency Response Data
~!
System (ERDS). As I discussed with you a team of two individuals (William 4
Burton, NRC and Gary Bethke, Comex) will be arriving at your facility at j
9:00 a.m. on August 14, 1986 to conduct the survey. If acceptable we will 3i start with a brief introductory meeting followed by the survey of your 3
available data and computer characteristics. For your information, I an d
enclosing a list of the individuals we expect we need to speak with and a j!
copy of the ERDS survey checklist to be used during the visit. Please pd It deals with a broad spectrum of systems, because it was intended torealize that not all i
cover all licensed nuclear reactors. If you have any questions please j
contact me at (301) 492-4155.
k 1
Sincerely, J

k It is recognized that the key disciplines necessary to support the ERDS l
curvey will represent different departments and organizational relationships unique to each utility surveyed (e.g., Corporate vs. Plant
.h Site Engineering staff). It is believed that most of the appropriate 1
^j personnel will be the same as those on the project teams for SPDS and 1
Emergency Response Facility Data Acquisition System development.
The appropriate utility manager to coordinate the ERDS site survey is L
q likely to be the same individual who is responsible-for SPDS, RG1.97 or 1
ERF upgrade programs. The approximate man-hours for each site survey are ll based on a 1 1/2 to 2 day survey for a single site or a two unit site i
where both units are identical and a common Data Acquisition System has
<j been installed at a common TSC or EOF.
