Contacted from CPSES resident trailer on 10/26/84 re possible close-out interview with him. He agreed and I said I would call him on I called today at Monday to confirm the interview date and location. 1 p.m.; he said that he would not be able to be interviewed I asked him whether he had anything to say to us, he said no. l 1 gave him my name and Dick Wessman's name and asked him to contact us through NRC operator 301-492-7000 should he have any questions, ccmments, etc. AC T R. D\ cs FEB 2 21535 i TELECON WITH ALLEGER A-21 I contacted alleger A-21 at the suggestion of .JuanitaEll[ (CASE) to determine how best to provide the alleger with feedback on his concerns regarding the construction of the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plent. Alleger stated he was quite disappointed with NRC efforts as a result of previous contacts and was wondering what the NRC has been doing with his allegations. I informed hin of the TRT efforts regarding his allegations and assured him we have investigated his allegations thorcughly. I asked hin if he would like to receive a copy of the SSER containing his allegaticns and he responded affirmatively. He acknowledged that he had declined any further l l contact with NRC after the last telecon but would be interested in receiving a copy of the SSER. He gave me his current address as: 6w g John J. ( TRT told the alleger that a review of the records dic not reveal that the l two welders mentioned had been burning 240 rods per day. The TRT emphasizec that the weld foreman was probably exaggerating when he mentioned having all the welders meet the 200 rods per day goal. The alleger was told that, in any case, when the work resulting from the speec up in welding failed

The alleger confirmed that, tollllll knowledge, no nonconforming items were installed.                                                                     ,

1 :00 p.m. 11/8/84 AW-66 The TRT discussed the results of our review with was told that based upon the TRT's interviews with both B Q.C.personnelandseveralwelderswhowor$edatthesitein December 1981, the TRT could neither substantiate or refute the allegation. The TRT also said that since QC stopped the work during this occurrence that was evidence that the O.C. system was working. The TRT then asked for any further information concerning this incident and he provided the following information: - (1) has a transcript of an interview with ehere jescribed the incident and identifie/s other welders who were present during the l incident. " - (2) An 01 report date describes an interview J between nd fir. Brooks Griffin of 01 during which time the same information as in (1) was given to the tF.~. (3) dentified two welders who were witnesses to the occurrence as (4) The incident took place in the lower valve room of RC 1. (5) My stated that Q.C. stopped the work approxinately 1 hour af ter the start of both the welding and concrete chipping activities. When aas asked about any other similar occurrences that .itnesse:, 3rovided the following information.
