NUCLEAR POWER BUSINESS UNIT OI 64A OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS MINOR i t Revision 6 i T INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL OF PURGE January 25,1997 VALVE COMPONENT BYPASS LINES Unit RECORD  !

Date PROCEDURE VERIFIED CURRENT AND Q{ECKED FOR TEMPORARY OLANGES IF FIELD g COPIES REQUIRED. USE PBF-0026 LAW NP 124 AND DO EQI COMPLETE n!!$ BLOCK.  !

1.0 PURPOSE The purpose of this instmetion is to provide guidance in the installation and removal of bypass ,

lines around the cam-operated air switch and the exhaust seal regulator for the T-ring air supply of the purge supply and exhaust valves. These components have a potential for leaking to atmosphere,'which would deplete the accumulator air supply ifIA is lost.  !

j 3.0 PRECAUTIONS AND LIMITATIONS 3.1 Purge valve component bypasses must be installed and removed only when the unit is in a cold shutdown condition, except as permitted per Technical Specification 15.3.6.C.a for the purpose of valve maintenance of a single valve at any one time.

3.2 The purge valves must be shut to install or remove purge valve component bypasses.

3.3 The purge valves should be red locked and tagged in the shut position when the component bypasses are installed.

i 3.4 The purge valves must not be stroked open when the component bypasses are installed, as damage to the T-ring sealing surface may result. i i

3.5 1 The air line fittings associated with the installation and removal of the purge valve component bypasses must be leak tested with snoop as a post-maintenance test to assure -

i proper operation of the system. This is especially important following bypass installation, l

as a small fitting leak may fail the system air drop test per IT-380(385).

NOTE: QA parts used (s.e., bypass lines andfittings) should be recorded on IT-380(385)

Task Sheet.

3.6 This OI is subordinate to the sequence of events as specified in TS-35(3,6).
