Dear Sir:
The Authority stated in Reference 1 that an upgraded meteorological system would be provided to serve both the James A.
FitzPatrick and Nine Mile Point nuclear power plants.
The system would be capable of assessing the impact of a release of radioactive materials to the atmosphere.
In References 1 and 2, we committed to providing to you a description of the atmospheric transport and diffusion model to be used.
Appendix 2 to NUREG-0654 requests that licensees make a similar submittal.
Please find attached a copy of this description entitled " Dispersion Model Description for the Nine Mile Point / James A.
FitzPatrick Nuclear Stations."
Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., licensee of the Nine Mile Point l
plant, has recently informed us that they have transmitted a copy of the model description to you.
Since this is a shared system, the model is identical for both plants.
