  • ATTACIfMENT TO LICENSEE EVENT REPORT NO. 82-Oll/03L-0 Wisconsin Electric Power Company Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Unit 1 Docket No. 50-266 During normal steady state operations on April 15, 1982 while performing ICP 2.1, " Monthly Test of Reactor Protection and Safeguards Channels 1-4", the overpower AT setpoint No. 2 for channel 2 of the reactor protection system was discovered to be less conservative than the established limit. The affected channel had been verified within specifications during the last performance of ICP 2.2 on March 30, 1982. Three operable channels were main-tained at all times as required. Only two channels are required to provide the protective function. The event is reported in accordance with Technical Specification 15.6.9.2.B.l.

The impulse summer unit (lTM-402-0) controls the Tavg input to the overpower AT computer. Because of drift in this component, the bistable trip setpoint was 61.68'F vice the 60.98*F required by the Technical Specification. The instrument was adjusted and returned to service. At no time was the health and safety of the public affected in any way. The Resident Inspector has been notified of the event. >}}
