The n;w 2/3 chimney monitoring system which was in service during this time failed to retain the hourly sampling data and consequently, a permanent record was not obtained. Upon discovery, th old 2/3 chimney monitoring system was i= mediately placed back into service and the new cy: tem was placed on standby.

Achterberg e,YE 1-2-82 Ps.RT 2 l cPERATING ENGINEER'S COWENTS As soon as the problems with the "Sping" were identified, the old 2/3 chimney moni-toring system was placed back in service. During this period, although a record was not k:pt, the "Sping" system was capable of alarming during any period of High Off-Gas release.

Additionally, Off-Gas flow rate was monitored and recorded and the recombiner and Re-Char cyctems were in service.
