Thursday, January 09, 2020 12:51:00 PM By letter dated August 19, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19239A114), Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation submitted lnservice Inspection (ISI) Program Relief Request to Utilize Code Case N-666-1, "Weld Overlay of Class 1, 2, and 3 Socket Welded Connections,Section XI, Division 1," for Wolf Creek Generating Station, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(z)(2). The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)staff needs to the following additional information for completing its review of the request:
- 1. Please provide the 10-year ISI interval for which the proposed alternative is requested.
As part of the response, please provide the start and end dates of the ISI interval.
- 2. Please describe the frequency of the walk-downs that will be conducted to identify leakage after the weld overlay installation.
Draft request for additional information (RAI) was transmitted on January 8, 2020. Nicole Good of your staff informed the NRC staff on January 9, 2010 that a clarification is not needed. You are requested to provide your response to the RAI within 30 days of this email. Please treat this email as official transmittal of RAI request.
