Dear Mr. Heflin:

By application dated August 13, 2013, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

(Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) package Accession No. ML13247A075), Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (the licensee) requested a license amendment for Wolf Creek Generating Station, to revise the Technical Specifications to support transition to the Westinghouse core design and safety analysis.

The NRC staff has reviewed the information provided in your application and determined that additional information is required in order to complete its review. The enclosed questions were provided to Mr. S. Wideman of your staff on February 19, 2013. Please provide a response to the questions within 45 days of the date of this letter.

The NRC staff considers that timely responses to requests for additional information help ensure sufficient time is available for staff review and contribute toward the NRC's goal of efficient and effective use of NRC staff resources. The NRC staff has reviewed the information provided in the application and determined that additional information, as listed below, is required in order to complete its review.

EEEB-RAI-1 Please confirm whether any loads are being added to the WCGS emergency diesel generators (EDGs). If so, describe their impact on the capability and capacity of the EDGs. Also, describe changes, if any, being made to the EDG loading sequence to support this license amendment request (LAR).

EEEB-RAI-2 Please confirm whether any components are being added to the Environmental Qualification (EQ) equipment list to comply with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.49 (10 CFR 50.49) due to this LAR. If components are being added, describe the equipment qualification for the environmental conditions to which the components are expected to be exposed.
