Inoperable le, 125 VDC battery chargers CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Operational Mode 1 Reactor Power: 100%

DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

At 1650 hours0.0191 days <br />0.458 hours <br />0.00273 weeks <br />6.27825e-4 months <br />, Control Room personnel noticed that the le 125-volt battery voltage was low. An equipment operator was sent to check the condition of the battery chargers. The operator found the lCl and 1C2 battery charger D.C. breakers tripped. Technical Specification 3.8.2.-3.b was implemented. A station electrician was called and at 1730 hours0.02 days <br />0.481 hours <br />0.00286 weeks <br />6.58265e-4 months <br /> placed the lCl battery charger in service. Technical Specifiation LCO 3.8.2.3 was then satisfied, therefore, Action Statement 3.8.2.3.b was terminated.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

No specific cause could be established for this problem. An investigation has been started but no information is available at this time. All battery chargers have operated satisfactory to date.

ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:

Technical Specification Action Statement 3.8.2.3.b states that with one 125~volt o.c. battery and/or its charger inoperable, restore the inoperable battery and/or charger to operable status within two hours or be in at least Hot Standby within the next six hours and in Cold Shutdown within the following 30 hours3.472222e-4 days <br />0.00833 hours <br />4.960317e-5 weeks <br />1.1415e-5 months <br />. The lCl battery charger was returned to operable status in 40 minutes, therefore, Action Statement 3.8.2.3.b was terminated.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

No. lCl battery charger was placed back in service and functionally checked. lCl battery charger performed satisfactory.
