SNUBBER SURVEILLANCE NO. 1 UNIT SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272 Your letter of November 20, 1980 transmitted Inservice Sur-veillance Requirements for snubbers under the Standard Tech-nical Specifications, and requ~sted that PSE&G submit a license amendment application to incorporate the applicable portion of these model Technical Specifications into the Salem 1 Technical Specifications.

As you are aware, the Salem 2 Technical Specifications for snubber surveillance have been in the developmental stage during the past several months and were completed with the issuance of the operating license on May 20, 1981. We are now in the process of preparing a license amendment applica-tion for Salem 1 to incorporate the snubber surveillance technical specifications such th~t they are compatible with those that have been developed faf~'"Sa1'ei;n 2. We anticipate submittal of our license amendment>*application for Salem 1 by August 7, 1981.
