  • Area Code 517 788-0550 January 22, 1979 Director, Nuclear Reactor Regulation Att Mr Dennis L Ziemann, Chief Operating Reactors Branch No 2 US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR *PALISADES PLANT - EXPIRATION OF TECHNICAL.SPECIFICATION 4.ll.6 Technical Specification 4.ll.6 requires a meteorological monitoring program be conducted in the vicinity of the plant site for two years following con-version to cooling towers to document effects of cooling tower operation on meteorological variables. In addition, it requires that studies be conducted for two years to measure effects of cooling tower drift on vegetation by asso-ciated salt deposition, icing or other causes.

Consumers Power Company will have met all requirements of Technical Specifica-tion 4.ll.6 (excepting 4.ll.6(b) - Drift Study) by March 3l, 1979, at which time these particular meteorological and drift studies will be terminated.

Technical Specification 4.11.6(b) - Drift Study will have been complied with by July 1, 1979, and that study will be terminated then. A final report of our findings will be included with the 1979 Annual Nonradiological Environmental Monitoring Report which is due March 30, 1980.

This Technical Specification will be deleted upon conversion to Standard Tech-nical Specifications.
