REQUEST FOR NONDISCLOSURE (TAC 75926)
GB Slade General Manager Consumers Power Company (CPC) letter dated May 30, 1990 in regard to staff concerns related to the PORV/Block Valve modification inadvertently contained, as Attachment K to Enclosure II, a confidential technical report made to CPC by Bechtel-KWU.
That report is Bechtel-KWU Report No 128901/MJS "Full Flow Testing of MOV M0-1042A."
In compliance with the provisions of 10CFR2.790(a((4) CPC hereby reauests that Bechtel-KWU Report No 128901/MJS be made exempt from disclosure and not be made available for inspection and copying in the NRC Public Document Room.
An affidavit in compliance with 10CFR2.790(b)(l) signed by Manfred Schmidt, Acting Manager of Valve Engineering for Bechtel-KWU, is attached.

FINAL RESPONSE TO STAFF CONCERNS RELATED TO PORV/BLOCK VALVE MODIFICATION (TAC 72889)
NRC letter dated January 4, 1990 contains nine specific items of Staff concern relating to the new PORVs and Block Valves at the Palisades Plant.
NRC letter dated February 9, 1990 requested CPC to respond to those nine specific concerns no later than February 23, 1990 and states that a draft response is acceptable.
Subsequently, on March 8, 1990 at a meeting attended by CPC Staff and NRC Staff and their respective consultants, after review of CPC's February 23, 1990 draft response, it was concluded that in addition to submitting a final response, CPC should respond to four additional NRC Staff questions.
Enclosure I itemizes those four additional questions and provides CPC's response.
Enclosure II provides our final response to the nine concerns identified in the NRC letter dated January 4, 1990.

BECHTEL-I<WU AFFIDAVIT TECHNICAL REPORT FOR "FULL FLOW TESTING OF MOV-1042 A" Bechtel-KWU Alliance requests that Bechtel-KWU Report No.
128901/MJS, "Full Flow Testinq of MOV-1042 A" submitted to the NRC by Consumers Power Company as attachment K to enclosure II of the May 30, 1990 concerns regarding PORV and block valve modification, retain its "strict confidence" classification as'noted on the title page of that report.
Release of information contained in the report as public information may unfairly prejudice the commercial position of Bechtel-KWU.
In compliance with *10CFR2. 790 (b)
(4), the following additional information is presented.
(i)
The subject information has been held in confidence by Bechtel-KWU.
(ii)
The subject information is of the type customarily held in confidence by Bechtel-KWU and that action is routinely based on our
