RESPONSE TO TECHNICAL EVALUATION REPORT, NUREG 0737, ITEM II.D.1, TESTING OF RELIEF AND SAFETY VALVES (TAC NO 44604)
NRC letter dated November 9, 1989 transmitted Technical Evaluation Report (TER) EGG-NTA-8333 which evaluated the Palisades Plant compliance with NUREG 0737 (II.D.1) and requested additional information regarding the new power operated relief valves (PORVs) and block valves no later than January 1990.
Because of an unexpected incident involving the new PORVs and block valves on November 21, 1989 which resulted in the Staff requesting more additional information, the NRC Palisades Project Manager concurred to change the response date to May 30, 1990. is our response to the TER.
Attachments 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are identified in Attachment 1 and provide information which confirms the information provided in Attachment 1.
