ATTACHMENT Re: St. Lucie: Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos.- 50-335, 50-389 IE Ins ection Re rt 335/85-00 and 389/85-00 Finding Technical Specification 6.8.l.c. (Units 1 and 2) requires that procedures be implemented for surveillance and test activities, of safety-related equipment.

Paragraphs 8.2.5.B and 8.2.8.A of Administrative Procedure 0010132, the applicable procedure for inservice testing (IST) of ASME pumps and valves, requires that entries be made in the control room "Pump and Valve Summary" book to indicate the current status of testing.

Contrary to the above, on 3anuary 30, 1985, procedure 0010132 had not been properly implemented in that entries indicating testing status had not been made for: Unit 1 Charging pump 1B, 3uly 1980; Unit 2 Hydrazine pumps 2A and 2B, April-3une 1980; Unit 2 High Pressure Safety Injection (HPSI) pump 2A, 3anuary-February 1980; and Unit 2 Low Pressure Safety Injection (LPSI) pump 2A, 3anuary-February 1980..

Response

1. FPL concurs with the finding.
2. The reason for the finding was personnel oversight in that the entries were not made in Pump and Valve Summary Book to indicate the current status of the testing as required by procedure.
3. The Pump and Valve Summary Book has been updated to indicate the current status of surveillance and test activities of safety-related equipment.
0. FPL is making appropriate procedure changes to modify the method and responsibility for maintaining the pumps summary data.
5. Full compliance is expected to be achieved by 3une 30, 1985.
