Re: St. Lucie Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-335 and 50-389 Instrument Air Supply System Problems Affectin Safet -Related E ui ment Generic Letter 88-14 By letter L-88-539, dated December 27, 1988, Florida Power 6 Light Company (FPL) provided its phased schedule for responding to Generic Letter (GL) 88-14. FPL Letter L-89-98, dated March 14, 1989, provided the first set of responses to GL 88-14; FPL L-89-232, dated June 28, 1989, provided the second response to letter GL 88-14.

In accordance with the schedule provided in L-88-539, FPL has verified by test that air-operated safety-related components on St.

Lucie Unit 1 will perform as expected in accordance with all design-basis events, including a loss of normal instrument air system.

All actions required by Generic Letter 88-14 are now complete for St. Lucie Units 1 and 2.
