Re: St. Lucie Unit 2 Docket No 50-389 Fire Protection On August 23, 1981 an informal conversation took place. between Florida Power & Light Co. and your Chemical Engineering Branch representative for fire protection. Florida Power 8 Light was informed that the following criteria would be utilized for reviewing standpipe requirements in our city water tanks to insure fire water availability.

1. greater than or equal to 200,000 gallons, or
2. the water demand from the most restructive sprinkler system protecting safety related components plus a 500 gpm hose stream for a 2 hour2.314815e-5 days
5.555556e-4 hours
3.306878e-6 weeks
7.61e-7 months
period of time, whichever is the most restrictive. 'i As we are planning this modification to our city water tanks, your timely response confirming this criteria is requested.

Very truly yours, Robert E. Uhrig Vice President Advanced Systems and Technology REU/EWD/bh QO cc: J.P. O'Reilly, Director, Region Harold F. Reis, Esquire.
