Notification of emergency classifications within the required fifteen (l5) minute time regime.

~Res onse:

A. Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure 3 I 0002 IE, "Duties and Responsibililties of the Emergency Coordinator," will be revised to improve the format such that the preparation and notification time can be reduced.

B. A.meeting will be held with State officials to discuss other possible time saving improvements to the notification process.

Exercise Weakness 50-335/87- I 9-02, 50-389/87- I 8-02:

Failure of ENC Emergency Control Officer to properly approve all news releases prior to issuance of same to the public.

~Res onse:

Offsite Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures I IOI and I I03, which specify the duties of the Emergency Control Officer (ECO) and Emergency Information Manager (EIM) will be revised to include specific guidelines for formal written approval of a news release. These guidelines will include:

A. EIM or his designee approval initials and date based on ECO verbal authorization prior to EOF/ENC operation.

B. ECO approval initials and date once the EOF/ENC is in operation.
