Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

Re: St. Lucie Unit No.. 2 Docket No. 50-389 Emer enc Pre aredness The enclosed material addresses concerns raised during the Florida Power and Light/Nuclear Regulatory Commission telephone conference on April 8, 1982 regarding emergency preparedness.

To summarize the material enclosed:

1. Currently, FPL is still negotiating an emergency services agree-ment wi th Combustion Engineering . The enclosed explanation will be provided in Appendix G of the next revision to the St. Lucie Plant Radiological Emergency Plan unless the agreement is finalized.
2. Additional details regarding Lawnwood Medical Center capabilities are provided in an excerpt from their "Disaster Manual".
3. Table 3-4 will be incorporated in the next Plan revision to describe non-radiological instrumentation used for accident detection and emergency classification.
4. As shown on page 7-7 of the Plan, clarification regarding annual unannounced notification drills will be included in the next revision.

The status of other items discussed:

1. State Radiological Emergency Plan - forwarded to'NRC on April 16, 1982.
2. Results of three staffing augmentation drills - to be provided on or before August 1, 1982.

3. A review of the St. Lucie County and lIartin County Sheriff's letters of support revealed that these letters do not contain security safeguards information.

Upon completion of the documentation of the staffing augmentation drills, all FPL commitments, based upon the above referenced telephone conversa-tion, will be met.
