Re: St. Lucie Unit 1 Docket No. 50-335 Cleanin of Steam Generators N The purpose of this letter is to inform you that, based on the results of developmental testing performed to date, Florida Power" 8 Light Company does not plan to chemically clean the St. Lucie Unit 1 steam generators during the upcoming Cycle 3 refueling outage. Further testing is required to support the feasibility and justify the expense of chemical cleaning.

We will keep you informed of our position on chemical cleaning at St.

Lucie, however, our plans for continuing the developmental work are undetermined at this time.
