OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JUNE 9, 2016, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND DTE ELECTRIC COMPANY, CONCERNING ASPECTS OF THE 2016 ANNUAL UPDATE PERTAINING TO THE FERMI 2 NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC. NO. MF4222)

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of DTE Electric Company (DTE or applicant) held a telephone conference call on June 9, 2016, to discuss and clarify the staffs understanding of DTEs Fermi 2 License Renewal Application 2016 Annual Update, specifically the scoping and screening of a recently installed system, Beyond Design Basis External Event Mitigation (Fukushima). This new system is intended to be used as part of the Flexible and Diverse Coping (FLEX) to mitigate Beyond Design Basis External Events in response to NRC Order EA-12-049, Issuance of Order to Modify Licenses With Regard to Requirements for Mitigation Strategies for Beyond-Design-Basis External Events.
