On April 24, 2014, DTE Electric Company filed its license renewal application for Fermi Unit 2.1 On August 18, Dont Waste Michigan, Citizens Environment Alliance of Southwestern Ontario, and Beyond Nuclear filed a petition to intervene and request for a hearing, which included four proposed contentions.2 Also on August 18, Citizens Resistance at Fermi 2 (CRAFT) filed a separate petition to intervene and request for a hearing, including fourteen proposed contentions.3 Both DTE and the NRC Staff have filed answers opposing the petitions to intervene and requests for a hearing.4 1

The Board held oral argument on November 20 in Monroe, Michigan. Accordingly, the Boards decision granting or denying the petitions to intervene and requests for a hearing was originally due Monday, January 5, 2015. The Board previously extended the due date to January 30, 2015.5 The Board is in the process of finalizing its decision, and hereby provides notice pursuant to 10 C.F.R. § 2.309(j) that it anticipates issuing a decision on the petitions to intervene and requests for a hearing on or before February 6, 2015.
