Dear Mr. Koehl:

By letter dated July 17,2012 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML12216A087), STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) submitted the South Texas Project (STP), Units 1 and 2 Physical Security Plan, Training and Qualification Plan, and Safeguards Contingency Plan, Revision 14. The attachment to the letter dated July 17, 2012, contains safeguards information and, accordingly, has been withheld from public disclosure.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is currently reviewing the submittal to ensure compliance with paragraph 50.54(p)(2) of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR). The NRC staff has determined that the information identified in the enclosed request for additional information (RAI) is needed in order for the NRC staff to complete its review.

Please advise if a call between the NRC and STPNOC staff is needed for clarification purposes.

You are requested to provide response to the RAI within 30 days from the date of this letter.

The Enclosure transmitted herewith contains Security-Related information. VVhen separated from the Enclosure, this document is decontrolled.
