1. USNRC Letter, S. Bajwa to J. Knubel, dated November 25, 1998, regarding "James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant -

Third Interval Inservice Inspection Program Relief Requests (TAC NO. MA071 1)"

Dear Sir:

This letter submits the James A. Fitzpatrick (JAF) Owner's Activity Report, JAF-RPT-04-00330, Rev. 0. (Enclosure 1) which contains inservice inspection (ISI) results for refueling outage RI 5 and Repair/Replacement activities performed during the 2nd Inspection Period of the Third 10-Year ISI Interval. All work performed during this period met the requirements of 1989 Edition, No Addenda, of the ASME Section XI Code.

The NRC had previously approved JAF's Request for Relief No. 6 (Reference 1) to utilize ASME Section XI Code Case N-532. Code Case N-532 provides alternatives for the documentation requirements for repair and replacement activities, and the use of Form NIS-2A (Repair/Replacement Certification Record) in lieu of Form NIS-2 (Owner's Report for Repair or Replacement). Enclosure I was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the approved Code Case N-532.

There are no new commitments contained in this letter.

If you have any questions or~require additional information, please contact Mr. Andrew Halliday, Regulatory Compliance Manager at (315) 349-6055.

Very truly yours, TAS:gb
