DETAILS 1.

Discussion The WNP-2 chemistry laboratory recently analyzed a spiked solution containing radionuclides which require chemical isolation prior to their quantification.

This solution was provided by the NRC to test laboratory capability to analyze beta emitters and soft x-ray emitters.

The results are tabulated below:

Nucl ide WNP-2

~Ci /ml Certificate Value H-3 Fe-55 Sr-89 Sr-90 1.08 E-4 7. 40,E-5

.1.07 E-4 1.19 E-5 9.11 E-5 5.57 E"5 1.25 E-4 l. 13 E-5 The results indicate adequate agreement for this series of measurements.

With this report, Open Item No. 86-35-01 is closed.

2.

Exit Interview The results were discussed with Mr.

L.

D. Morrison, WNP-2 Chemistry Supervisor over the telephone.
