' Division of Radiation Safety and Safeguards SUMMARY Scope:

This routine, unannounced inspection of the Physical Security Program for Power Reactors was conducted specifically in the areas of Detection Aids; Assessment Aids; Protected and. Vital Areas Access Control - Personnel and Packages; Testing and Maintenance; Physical Barriers - Protected and Vital Areas; Alarm Stations and Communications.

Results:

In the areas inspected, one Licensee Identified Non-cited Violation was

, identified; Failure to Secure Safeguards Information (see paragraph 9).

One Inspector Followup Item (IFI) was identified; Service and Maintenance Support for Security Equipment, (see paragraphs 2.a. b and d). One Open Item, Generic Letter 89-07, was reviewed but not closed (see paragraph 10).

Inspection results indicate that the McGuire Nuclear Station Security Program appears to be' effective in most aspects and the security organization is capable of providing an acceptable level of protection for the station.

However, in the microwave, close circuit television system (CCTV) gards to the perimeter area of security equipment; specifically with re and card access system, a generic problem was identified in paragraph 2.a b and d.
