Unresolved Items Unresolved items were not identified during this inspectio Feedwater System Piping Inspection Per IE Bulletin (IEB) No. 79-13 (Unit 1)
At the time of this inspection the licensee was in the process of radiographing the Unit 1 feedwater piping as required by IEB 79-1 This inspection involved 17 welds for A generator, 11 welds for B generator and 14 welds for C generator (excluding the nozzle to reducer and reducer to piping welds).
-2-The inspector reviewed the new radiographs with particular emphasis on the radiographs which contained indications in the weld are The indications which the licensee was finding in these piping welds were fabrication related indications such as porosity, slag, incomplete fusion rather than service related indications such as the cracking found in the reducer The inspector reviewed the following radiographs:
Feedwater to "A" Generator Welds Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, S, 6, 8, 9, 13 and 14 were reviewed Welds Nos.3, 4, 5 and 13 contained rejectable indications Feedwater to "B" Generator Welds No~.l, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were reviewed Weld No. 1 contained rejectable indications Feedwater to "C" Generator Welds Nos.l, 2, 3, 4, S, 6, 9 and 11 were reviewed Welds Nos.S, 6, 9 and 11 contained rejectable indications As of July 20, 1979, the licensee still had six welds to radiograph and two to ultrasonically inspect to complete the !EB No. 79-13 required inspection of the main feedwater pipin There were no items of noncompliance or deviations in this area of the inspectio.
