Protection of Reactor Plant Components.
During a walkthrough of containment No. 2, the inspector observed.
components that had been protecte No damaged components were noted during this walk throug The inspector also discussed with licensee management, engineering controls that had been recently institute Of particular note was the establishment of a team to perform weekly team walkthrough inspections to check protection of component The inspector has no further questions at this time and is closing inspector followup item 281/79-12-0 No deviations or 1tems of noncompliance were identifie Tours of No. 2 Containment Two tours of No. 2 containment were made by the inspector to observe conditions and safety related work activities. Protection of reactor plant components is addressed in paragraph Severa*1 personnel were sweeping and moppin On each walkthrough, a number (about 20)
of persons not actively employed at th~ moment were using the low radiation "rest areas" as planned by the licensee. The tours revealed a quantity of radwaste material, mostly large boxes of lagging, that had been in containment significantly longer than an orderly schedule for radwaste removal would dictate. It is understood that unavaliability of the polar crane was the major cause for this dela No deviations or items of noncompliance were observe Seismic Reanalysis of Safety Related Systems The inspector reviewed the program with licensee management and ascer-tained that initial steps to obtaining a new seismic analysis were in progress, including detailed measurements of systems and sight verifica-tion of valves included in IE Bulletin 79-0 The inspector sampled by observation the activities of two of the measuring teams and had no further questions at this poin No deviations or noncompliances were observe \\Yt
