In a letter dated July 22,1988 (3F0788-18), Florida Power Corporation (FFC) described a study shich had been initiated to evaluate long tem emergency diesel generator loading under post accident m nditions. 'Ihe study was undertaken as a result of NRC concerns that the evaluated loads for the first 30 minutes of sane accident scenarios may not be bounding for the loryjer term.

'Ihe study has been ccrpleted and a sumary is attached. As the summary shows, the long tem emergency diesel generator loads for all accident conditions are within the 2000 hour0.0231 days <br />0.556 hours <br />0.00331 weeks <br />7.61e-4 months <br /> rating of 3000 kw. 'Ihis is true for the existing plant configuration as well as for the configuration to be inplemented durirq the next refueling outage.

Tables 1 and 2 of this @=ent tabulate the "A" EDG 30 minute to seven day extended time loads including both the autcmatically applied loads and the manually awlied loads with "B" EDG failure. Se loads runain within the 2000 hour0.0231 days <br />0.556 hours <br />0.00331 weeks <br />7.61e-4 months <br /> 3000 W rating of the diesel generator for both existing conditions and after the installation of the Refuel VII rodifications.

Tables 3 ani 4 of this document tabulate the "B" EDG 30 minute to seven day extended time loads including both the automatically awlied loads and the manually awlied loads with "A" EDG failure. W e loads remain within the 2000 hour0.0231 days <br />0.556 hours <br />0.00331 weeks <br />7.61e-4 months <br /> 3000 W rating of the diesel generator for both existing conditions and after the installation of the Refuel VII modifications.

Failura of the steam driven Emergency Feedvater Punp (EFP-2) results in sharing of loads between "A" and "B" EDG's. Werefore, the "B" ED3 failure will bound all scemrios for the "A" EDG loadirq projected for seven days. Before the Refuel VII modifications the maxim.nn "A" EDG loading with "B" IIG failure is 2924 W and occurs during steam line break outside the Reactor Buildirq. After the Refuel VII modifications the maxinum "A" EDG loadirs with "B" ED3 failure is 2879 m and occurs during the 0.07 sq. ft. and 0.04 sq. ft. Intamediate Break LOCAs.

%e failure of motor driven Emergency Foodvater PLmp (EFP-1) does not affect the loading of "B" ED3 because EFP-2 is steam driven. Worofore, the "A" ED3 failure will bound all s narios for the "B" ED3 loadim projected for seven days. Before the Refuel VII modifications the maximum "B" EDG loading with "A" EDG failure is 2939 W and occurs during the 0.07 sq. ft. and 0.04 sq. ft.

Intermediate Break IDCAs. After the Refuel VII modificaticos the maxinza "B" EDG loading with "A" EDG failure is 2895 W and occurs during the 0.07 sq. ft.

and 0.04 sq. ft. Intemodiate Break IDCAs.

20 time interval tabulaticos provide approximate timim when the load charges occur.
