SUPPLEMENTARY TESTIMONY ROCKLAND COUNTY NAME:

JAMES F. KRALIK Q. Please state your full name, position and address.

A. My name is James F. Kralik. I am employed as Chief Deputy Sheriff of the. Patrol Division, Rockland County Sheriff's Department, located in New City, New York.

Q. Do you wist 'o supplement or update the testimony which you previously supplied to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board.

t L A. Yes. In reference to my original testimony regarding the E Evacuation Plan, basically it stays the same. In regard to the updating of equipment, we have received no additional equipment as a patrol division in order to facilitate the plan. Neither have we received any manpower, nor any specialized training at this point. I do believe that a training course has been offered through the Fire Training Center 5

l and the Police Academy'there and possibly at this point 'i one or two of our men are now beginning to receive that particular type-of short period training. I believe it-is a half day. Regarding the future of the situation, we feel that there has been.some progress made regarding - 1 communications.between police departments; plans-are:

now formulated for a. major workshop on the specific plan of disaster preparedness. Regarding the new draft being proposed by the Office of Emergency Service and that further new communications _ lines have been opened up betweenh the police chiefs and the. Sheriff's Department in order to.

! carry out-the procedure and the mission of the plan.

i ,To clarify the term " communications," we are not talking

!. about communications equipment as in radio, telephone, we are talking about verbal communications and meetings between the chiefs and the Sheriff and that is all we are talking about. We feel that communications is still one that I hold as a major negative factor in the carrying out of the mission if you would have to do it today.
