SUPPLEMENTARY TESTIMONY ROCKLAND COUNTY NAME:

LEN SPIEGEL Q.

State your name, position and address.

A.

My name is Leonard Spiegel. I am the Rockland County Transit-Coordinator, with my main office at Pomona, New York.

Q.

Do you wish to update or supplement the testimony which you have previously given before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board.

A.

Yes. The previous testimony is substantially unchanged.

We have not received any additional vehicles, whether buses or other vehicles. What has changed since that testimony is that we are now in touch with the private bus operators in-the County who, according to the plan, would be providing the vehicles and manpower for the evacuation.

I am a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee and have been appointed to the sub-committee on transportation and we are working 8303020120 830222 PDR ADOCK 05000247 T

bus operator's association, and we will be asking them to put forth a proposal for the evacuation of-the various areas around the Indian Point Plant in the case of an event at the plant.- This proposal will consist of the inventory of available vehicles in-the County, an inventory of available man-power; what training procedures should be done and how to go about doing those training procedures; the planned routes for the evacuation, the time it would take to transverse those routes in the case of an event at Indian Point; what materials are lacking in the way of communications materials cur any other material that they'may have.

They will look at alternate refueling points outside of the ten mile area.

There are inventory tow truck operators that would be available in the event of breakdowns.

We expect all this information to come forth in a formal proposal from them to actually work as consultants to formulate the evacuation portion of the emergency response plan.

I have not been contacted by the State in any regard concerning transportation or the coordination of transportation. I did read in a letter that there was some training that has been going on in Rockland County. I do not know what the extent of that training was or when it was done 2
