My name is Donald A. Hastings, I reside at 45 Ridge Avenue, Spring Valley, New York, my business; address is.Rockland County Fire Training Center, Pomona,.New York.
I am the Director of Emergency Services, County of Rockland. -
Q.
Would you please give a brief description of your duties in that capacity.
A.
My duties as Director of Emergency Services is to coordinate all' agencies in case of a major disaster, whether it be natural or man-made; to work with the State.and all govern-ment agencies. (FEMA) in response to any emergencies as occur in Rockland County.
Q.
Do you employ within your department Donald McGuire.
A.
Yes, I do.
Donald McGuire, my Deputy Director, has been assigned the job of developing a response plan for radiologi-cal response for Indian Point and I have worked closely with him but he has had the full authority to develop to the best of his ability with whatever resources available to him.

have been on top of it and have concurred with all of his actions and all of his determinations.

Yes, I have read hisifirst testimony and then the subsequent testimony and I. agree with his statements re the feasibility of the plan and all of his other questions.

Are you a member of the Rockland County Citizen's Advisory Committee?
A.
Yes, I am a member of that committae - I am Vice Chairman

of said committee.

Do you wish to comment now on the present state of radiological emergency preparedness in Rockland County, both in your capacity as Director of Emergency Services and as Vice Chairman of the Rockland County Citizen's Advisory Committee?.
A.
We are working very diligently on the response plan for Rockland County and it is developing very quickly.
There are changes all the time and I will make my written statement at the time of my testimony.
