P0, INT NUCLEAR GENERATING UNIT NOS. 2 AND 3 ISSUANCE OF DIRECTOR'S DECISION UNDER 10 CFR 2.206 REGARDING EMERGENCY PLANNING FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE VICINITY OF INDIAN POINT Notice is hereby given that the Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, has issued a " Decision Pursuant to 10 CFR 2.206" concerning the petition dated April 6,1984, as supplemented June 9 and December 13, 1984, filed by New York Public Interest Research Group and seven community organizations (Petitioners) requesting the imediate suspension of the operating licenses for Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3.
The Petitioners contended that there would be unacceptable risk to the health and safety of school children in the vicinity of the plants in the event of a radiological emergency at Indian Point.
The Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, has determined to deny the Pr.titioners' request pursuant to 10 CFR 2.206. The reasons for this decision are explained in the " Director's Decision Under 10 CFR 2.206" (DD-87-13) which is available for public inspection at the Comission's Public Document Room located at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20555, and at the local

I A copy of'the decision will be filed with the Secretary for the Commission's review in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206 (c). As provided by this regulation, the decision will constitute the final action of the Commission 25 days after the date of the decision unless the Commission, on its own motion, institutes a review of the decision within that time.
