Dear Sir:

- In_ Reference 1, the NRC informed the Authority that two relief requeMs, R5 and R7, were denied for the 1st 10 year Inservice inspection (ISI) Interval. The NRC roquested a schedule for completion of the activities discussed in the relief requests. These involve the 100%

visual examination of retalning bolting less than 2 inches in diameter. Request R5 is associated with Class 1 piping pressure retaining bolting in flanges A, B, C and D of the i Residual Heat Removal System head spray line. Request R7 is associated with valve l pressure retaining bolting, Examination Category B-G-2, item B6.9.

The Authority has scheduled the required inspections to be completed during the 2nd 10 -

year ISI interval for the James'A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant as part of the normally ,

scheduled code required inspections. The 2nd 10 year ISI interval is scheduled to end in 1 July 1995. The valve inspections will be completed during the 1990,1991 and 1993 i refueling outages, j Should you or your staff have any questions regarding this matter, please contact {
