OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JUNE 25, 2009, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND PPL SUSQUEHANNA, LLC, COMMENTS ON THE SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT WITH OPEN ITEMS RELATED TO THE LICENSE RENEWAL OF SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of PPL Susquehanna, LLC (PPL), held a telephone conference call on June 25, 2009, to discuss PPL's comments on the Safety Evaluation Report with open items related to the license renewal of Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 (SSES), issued by letter of March 13, 2009. The NRC staff stated in its write up concerning request for additional information 4.3-1b that the number of cycles for the 25 percent steam bypass event was 70 cycles. The purpose of the telephone conference call was for PPL to clarify that the SSES design basis includes 70 cycles for the partial feedwater heater bypass event and 10 cycles for the turbine trip with 25 percent steam bypass event.

The enclosure provides a listing of the participants.

The applicant had an opportunity to comment on this summary.
